Soreen Walks in UK

‘Out and about with Soreen’ is the name of our great new competition, in which we’re offering four lucky winners the chance to win the ultimate £100 Gift Card from Blacks, the nation’s favourite great outdoors store (can also be used in JD stores). You could spend it on a tent, a pair of walking boots, a new rucksack, and in fact anything that gets you out and about and enjoying all that wonderful countryside.

To help get you in the mood and give you some great ideas for all the family rambles and more demanding treks, Soreen have put together a list of the Top 10 walks in the UK. So grab yourself a stout stick a pair of binoculars and a dog if you’ve got one, then head for the hills…or the woodlands…or the moors…or the coast.

Gatton Park, Surrey
Take a leisurely stroll or brisk walk through some stunning National Trust parkland, landscaped by the legendary Capability Brown. The scenery is superb and there’s plenty of wildlife in the woodland too, including buzzards and roe deer.

Divis and the Black Mountain, Co Antrim
A hugely rewarding walk through beautiful open countryside promising panoramic views over Belfast and the Mourne Mountains, including some glorious sunsets and sunrises.

Cotswolds Way
This is a 164km path winding through the gentle limestone hills of the Cotswolds, from Bath to Chipping Campden, so walk as much or as little of it as you like. Stately homes and afternoon teas territory, rather than craggy ridges.

Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire
A very scenic circular walk through ancient oak woodland in Wales, taking you through dense woods and pretty villages and along riverbanks teeming with wildlife.

Silverdale, Lancashire
A lowland coastal route with stunning vistas of Morecambe Bay. The view from the grassland cliff top of Jack Scout is one of the most spectacular you’ll ever see.

Craigievar Castle Trail, Aberdeenshire
There are two trails to choose from, taking you through lush countryside and rolling hills, with the unique backdrop of a Disney-style fortified house surrounded by unusual trees.

Lacy’s Caves and Long Meg, Cumbria
This 2 ½ hour hike is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Eden Valley, passing by a river, fascinating caves cut into sandstone rock and finishing at the Long Meg stone circle.

Yorkshire Three Peaks
This ‘ 3 peak challenge’ is smaller than the Scottish and Lake District challenges, but still a fairly grueling struggle and involves as much climbing and hiking as it does walking.

Hatfield Forest, Essex
A circular trail around a medieval hunting forest reserve, including the site of an Iron Age Settlement and a Georgian Shell house, which adds up to a great combination of history and countryside.

The Crocky Trail, Chester
This is much more than just a walk! It’s a mile long trail of obstacles, mazes, slides, ropes, swings and even a tunnel. Great fun for all the family in an outdoor adventure playground that’s perfect for serious thrill seekers.

So that’s ten excellent walks to think about, ranging from pleasant strolls to challenging hikes and all out adventure. And if you’re taking a packed lunch with you, remember to include some Soreen, because its deliciously squidgy energy could come in very handy when you’re starting to flag a bit. Our snack packs of two slices of ready spread Fruity Malt Loaf are ideal fuel for walkers and so are our handy Lunchbox Loaves.
