Team Squidgy complete the Great Manchester Cycle

Posted on: 12th June 2012

The 4th of June Bank holiday saw Manchester hold its first Great Manchester Cycle Event, this was the first mass participation, closed road cycling event Manchester has held. The route went past both the Manchester City Ground and Manchester United ground and also included a stretch of Manchester’s busiest motorway, the
Mancunian Way
(normally off limits to cyclists).

Two of our Soreen Team members, Stefan Urban and Gerard Mason signed up to compete in the 52mile race. Both Stefan and Gerard trained hard for the months leading up to the event and on the day they didn’t disappoint, turning up to the race in their Soreen race jerseys and equipped with their chosen energy supply; Soreen Lunchbox loaves which they say “kept them fuelled with energy during their ride” the boys completed the 52mile route in just 2Hours and 32Minutes.

In the next few weeks both Stefan and Gerard will be raising money for The Christie Cancer Charity, and are going to be entered in to the Manchester to Blackpool Cycle and also the Manchester 100mile cycle event. They are both extremely excited to be involved in raising money for such a great cause!.
