Soreen Take To The Tarmac

Posted on: 12th July 2012

On Sunday the 8th July, thousands of people saddled up to take part in one of the UK’s largest mass participant cycle events; ‘The Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride’. This is an annual event where cyclists follow an invigorating 62 mile route starting at Old Trafford Football ground, then snaking through miles of winding country roads that finally finish at Blackpool’s South Prominade.
The Manchester to Blackpool bike ride gives people the perfect opportunity to raise money for charity and this year ‘Team Soreen’, took to the tarmac to raise more money for their chosen charity ‘The Christie’.
Despite week long weather forecasts of torrential rain, there wasn’t a single drop on the day (other than that on the brows of the cyclists). Although it wasn’t a race, the competitive streak inside the ‘Team Soreen’ members had them to push as hard as they could, and the Soreen fuelled team managed to complete the ride in 3hours 30mins.
