Soreen Baked Alaska Recipe

A cool surprise awaits you.


Serves 8

What you’ll need:

1 x Soreen Original Malt loaf or Cinnamon and Raisin Fruit Loaf (you decide)

3 x large egg whites

125g Caster Sugar

300g Vanilla ice cream

What to do:

Put the egg whites into a clean mixing bowl

Whisk the egg whites till they hold their shape (fancy firm peaks)

Add the caster sugar a spoonful at a time, whisking all the time, until all the sugar is combined and the mixture is thick and shiny. Lovely!

Slice the Soreen into 8 juicy slices, put them in the base of an ovenproof dish. Put scoops of the vanilla ice cream on the top, and then cover completely with your perfect peaky meringue

Put the dish into the freezer for at least an hour

Preheat the oven to 220c/425f/gas 7

Put the dish into the oven and bake for 5/6 mins, till the meringue is golden

Serve quickly and dig in!
